DHL has an immediate opening for an Operations Sr. Supervisor at our MIA Aviation station in Miami, Florida. The jobholder is responsible of the Airlines and ACS Operations, and the warehouse’s adequate functioning, to achieve an efficient, secure and reliable operation, providing to the customers an excellent service quality, complying with the inventory processes and controls, optimizing the resources, according to the company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controls overall results of the airline and ACS operation (Weight and Balance/Ramp and Aircraft operation).

  • Motivates, trains, leads, and controls the employees assigned to his/her shift.

  • Ensures that all DHL systems and programs are properly followed and timely complied with by all members of his/her team.

  • Provides to the reporting staff the checklist, guidelines and trainings required to perform their daily work, complying with DHL´s standards.

  • Coordinates and verifies that all ACS material is received and prepared according to normal import and export procedures.

  • Supervise and control the RUM Inventory.

  • Supervise and control AMS transmission quality.

  • Supervises the Third Service Provider.

  • Ensures all manifesting systems are properly used and maintain.

  • Maintains control of the physical inventory of the warehouse and the shipments that are in it, such as: imports, exports, transit cargo, abandoned, dangerous goods, and perishable goods and not identified.

  • Supervises all procedures related to the dangerous goods.

  • Complies with the "GSOP" (Global Standard Operating Procedures) that define the warehouse’s operations, and the special accounts.

  • Ensures that pallets build-up is performed according to the airlines security standards.

  • Prepares reports of incidents and/or accidents when required.

  • Ensures the integrity of the ACS loads, preventing and avoiding damage; documenting and reporting significant damages; and in turn take corrective actions.

  • Coordinates with regional office the process for jumpseat requests on a timely manner

  • Distributes equipment supplies throughout the region, including airway bills for ACS and for CORE Commercial uplift.

  • Coordinate with the DHL Express Ramp Supervisor and the PTY OPS Flight Dispatchers the development of the overall operation, and the functions of the staff in charge, in order to achieve the expected results

  • Responsible of solving discrepancies of operational issues, and maintain a running log for biweekly meetings with service providers.

  • Coordinate with DHLE, all ACS transfers from CVG to Aviation facility.

  • Responsible for training, coordinating and monitoring all aspects required to comply with ACS Score Card.

  • And other assigned duties as required.

  • Train employees in DGR Awareness, Build-up and maintains training records.

  • Problem Solving : The job holder must have the ability to identify, analyze and solve ACS operational problems, to guarantee a timely and effective operation, in compliance with the standard procedures of the company.

  • Decision-Making : The jobholder should be able to take clear and prompt decisions within his main operational responsibilities. Other decisions are subject to prior consultation with higher levels.

  • Planning and organizing: The jobholder must plan and optimize the different operational procedures of related to ACS, the Warehouse, and the staff in charge, to achieve compliance with the standards and internal requirements needed to meet the schedules of the aircraft.

  • Job Challenge : Comply and surpass the high standards of quality, efficiency, and security with respect to the management of the warehouse, as well as delivery times and reception of load. In addition, must support 100% of the activities and processes that ensure the integrity of the load. Meet the OTP: On – Time Performance indicator.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certificate of High School, and preferably one (1) year of technical studies/university

  • Two (2) years experience in supervisory positions, preferably in air operations, controlling operational processes.

  • Preferably, two (2) years experience handling Air Cargo, and Warehouse.

  • Two (2) years experience in personnel management

  • Team Building skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

  • Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

  • PC literate

  • Able to work in the day, night and Holidays

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Well – organized and proactive

  • Coaching and motivational skills

  • Availability to travel
