CiTi BOCES Long-term Substitute High School Science Teacher in Mexico, New York

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students succeed and the ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect teaching of science content with students through an online learning platform and design support plans tailored to each student’s needs and learning style.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
Collaborate with other educators, counselors, and support staff to develop comprehensive learning plans for students.
Work as a cohesive team to ensure student attendance by creating a welcoming and motivating classroom atmosphere, reviewing data, and implementing targeted interventions accordingly.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to make science accessible and interesting for all students.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in alternative education and science instruction.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification in [Your State].
Experience working with at-risk youth or in an alternative education setting is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
