CiTi BOCES Art Teacher - Anticipated vacancy - 24-25 school year in Mexico, New York

CiTi BOCES is seeking a dedicated and passionate Art Teacher to join our team. As an art teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing quality education to students with disabilities, fostering their creativity, and helping them express themselves through art.

Responsibilities:

  • Art Instruction : Deliver engaging and inclusive art lessons to students in K through 12th grade. Utilize alternative learning techniques and a multidisciplinary approach to accommodate diverse learning needs.

  • Individualized Support : Tailor instruction to meet the unique abilities and challenges of students with disabilities. Adapt teaching methods, materials, and assessments as necessary.

  • Collaboration : Work closely with other educators, support staff, and parents to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring : Regularly assess student progress, track achievements, and provide feedback to promote growth.

  • IEP Implementation : Collaborate with student teams to ensure appropriate implementation of IEPs

  • Classroom Management : Maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

  • Professional Development : Stay informed about best practices, attend workshops, and engage in continuous learning.

Job Qualifications

  • NYS Certification : Hold a valid New York State teaching certification in Art.

  • Experience : Prior experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.

  • Passion : Demonstrate a genuine passion for art education and a commitment to fostering creativity in all students.

  • Communication Skills : Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students.

  • Adaptability : Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.

  • Patience and Empathy : Show patience, empathy, and understanding in working with diverse learners.
