The Ethics & Compliance Manager, Northern LATAM will be the primary ethics and compliance advisor for and liaison to Dentsply Sirona’s businesses in the northern part of the Latin America region (“Northern LATAM”), which includes operations in Mexico, Costa Rica, Columbia and Caribbean. They will be responsible for promoting a strong culture of compliance at Dentsply Sirona within Northern LATAM, reviewing and evaluating compliance-related issues/concerns, supporting compliance-related processes (e.g., Third Party due diligence, training), and partnering closely with management to help employees understand and follow applicable local and international laws as well as Company policies and procedures, including the Company’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct. They will also have opportunities to support compliance-related projects through the LATAM region and at the global level:
Ethics & Compliance
• Promotes a compliant tone at the top and in the middle; serves as an influential leader within Northern LATAM.
• Drafts, implements, maintains and/or revises relevant local compliance policies, procedures, guidance and other related documents.
• Assesses ethics and compliance risks and implements localised compliance controls and other mitigating measures, as needed.
• Serves as the leader and main contact for compliance-related queries in Northern LATAM, including interaction with Healthcare Professionals and distributors.
• Collaborates with HR and/or Legal to provide guidance to management and employees, and to resolve legal compliance issues, as necessary.
• Monitors Dentsply Sirona’s locations in Northern LATAM for compliance with Company standards and procedures.
• Implements the Business Gifts and Entertainment Policy, providing guidance as needed on local regulations.
• Oversees on-going monitoring efforts of Dentsply Sirona’s distributor network.
• Lead and/or assist with internal investigations as directed by the regional and/or global Ethics & Compliance and/or Legal departments.
• Ensures that compliance-related issues/concerns within the Company are appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
• Monitors new compliance-related legislation and industry trends to assess changes required in Dentsply Sirona policy.
• Supports the company’s Data Privacy program needs, including compliance with various local Data Privacy laws in Northern LATAM, working with Legal and Global Ethics & Compliance teams.
Training
• Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organisation which includes promoting the use of Compliance Hotline, heightened awareness of Codes of Conduct, and understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
• Develops an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for newcomers as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
• Conducts in-person and web-based compliance trainings for employees and Third Parties in Northern LATAM.
Others
• Prepares status reports on projects and programs for Compliance and Ethics Committee meetings and Audit Committee presentations.
• Participates in process improvement projects, as necessary.
• Provides reports on a regular basis on the Compliance Programs and initiatives.
• Supports internal and external audits of Dentsply Sirona’s businesses in Northern LATAM.
• Participates in compliance-related legal and data privacy processes and projects as necessary.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in law; Postgraduate degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience in a regulated industry within a multinational environment and/or major law firms.
• Experience in the Healthcare/Medical Device industry is strongly preferred.
• Proven expertise in managing complex compliance matters and investigations.
• Regional experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience advising on laws and regulations in Northern LATAM, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption, interactions with healthcare professionals (public and private), anti-competition, data privacy, and international trade.
• Familiarity with operational, compliance, financial, and HR procedures and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and work collaboratively as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across departments and externally.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information and processes in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to address complex challenges with innovative solutions.
• Skilled at securing management buy-in on compliance requirements.
