Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer in Mexico City, Mexico

The Finance Data and Experiences organization (FD&E) builds scaled solutions that enable Microsoft to run its end-to-end business more effectively and efficiently. FD&E operates within the business and has strong delivery partnerships across Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering. Our products influence data-driven decision making across a myriad of users and audiences ranging from the company’s Senior Leadership Team to front-line sellers working directly with customers.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement code for a product, services, or feature reusing code as applicable. Create extensible and maintainable code.

  • Applies knowledge of debugging tools, logs, telemetry, and other methods to proactively flags issues before they occur.

  • Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.

  • Assess, recommend, and adopt relevant new technologies, tools, and processes from Microsoft and industry.

  • Shares new ideas, and leverages software developer tools to create, debug, and maintain code for features. Uses internal tools and open source when possible.

  • Learns to develop and contribute to automation within production and deployment of a product feature. Runs code in simulated, or other non-production environments to confirm functionality and error-free runtime for products with oversight.

  • Support and influence the team culture customer-centricity and continuous improvement.

  • Implement practices that ensure accurate, safe, and efficient releases for our services.

  • Implement and maintain excellent design and development processes.

  • Collaborate with others to solve complex problems keeping pace with our global business.

  • Leverage engineering practices and principles. Flight code changes, use telemetry and analytics to take a understand customer impact.

  • Provide technical feedback to our product engineering partners to evolve and mature our Azure services and Power Platform.

  • Work with multiple client partner teams to implement cohesive end-to-end experiences.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrable ability in data modeling, ETL development, and Business Intelligence & Data warehousing, or similar skills

  • Business level fluency to read, write and speak English and Spanish.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of software development experience with big data processing systems or online services.

  • 2+ years of experience with any of the following: (Python, C++, DAX, C#, Excel, DAX, Power BI, Power Query, Tableau, SQL).

  • Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design.

  • Experience building cloud services on Azure.

  • Familiarity with Finance data and business rhythms.

  • Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes.

  • Passion for building highly scalable, reliable, cloud services, and data.

  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly across teams.
