Overview

A successful Platform Engineer is going to drive amazing experiences for users using Ruby, Ruby on Rails or containers technology. Further, it involves using awesome agile practices, including cross-functional collaboration with infrastructure and QA teams, fast iteration cycles, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and writing well-tested code.

Your primary focus will be Resolves problems of diverse scopes as they arise, escalating complex issues where analysis of the situation requires in-depth evaluation and judgement and performs implementations to optimize system/platform performance, efficiency, and capacity; may guide others on implementation and troubleshooting activities.

Role

• Develops, builds, maintains and tests assigned technologies, including associated software and hardware

• Resolves problems of moderate scopes as they arise, and provides high-level technical assistance to development programmers and customers to ensure proper performances

• Assists in implementation, supports configuration, and ensures standards, process, and procedures are in place

• Supports compliance posture which includes escalating potential concerns, and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions

• Drafts and reviews status reports and performs implementation and troubleshooting activities, updating project plans as required

• Supports business and process improvement initiatives, proactively sharing ideas that may impact team performance

• May manage smaller project/initiatives as an experienced individual contributor with specialized knowledge within assigned discipline

• Gains exposure to development of design, technology, and process standards

• Gains exposure to working with teams that span multiple geographies and time zones

• Experience navigating the organization to find internal resources and tools

• Participates in business resource groups and global technical communities of practice (e.g., bizops team)

• Gains experience supporting technology initiatives within own domain

• Gains experience collaborating with internal partners to troubleshoot operational and engineering activities

• Gains experience supporting process improvement efforts including automation and/or cloud delivery
