Lyft Accounting Manager in Mexico City, Mexico

Lyft is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Accounting Manager to its Accounting Operations team in Mexico. This is a crucial role that will assist in overseeing accounting operations in a fast paced environment. The candidate should expect to leverage current skill-sets while also focusing on learning quickly and adding value to the current processes. This position will be responsible for a team of 4 persons.
Responsibilities
Month-End Close Oversight: Oversee and manage the monthly close process, coordinating with various accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Process Optimization: Lead initiatives to streamline and automate accounting operations, identifying opportunities to reduce the close cycle and enhance efficiency.
Framework Enhancement: Develop and implement scalable accounting processes and internal controls, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth flux analyses of balance sheet accounts, providing actionable insights and identifying trends to inform strategic decision-making.
Audit & Compliance Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors, overseeing the preparation of audit documentation and providing comprehensive support throughout the audit process.
SOX Stewardship: Ensure compliance with SOX requirements for accounting operations, playing a key role in maintaining a strong internal control environment.
Strategic Initiatives: Spearhead special projects in Accounting/Finance, partnering cross-functionally to address complex business challenges and drive impactful outcomes.
Mentorship and Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development through regular feedback, coaching, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
Experience:
Language Proficiency/Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Technology Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications; expertise in Oracle or similar ERP systems.
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and multinational organizations experience, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Leadership & Initiative: Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and meet deadlines with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and deadlines. Experience managing and developing high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Problem-Solving Excellence: Strong accounting research and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex accounting issues.
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Future-Forward Thinking: A forward-thinking mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and the ability to adapt to evolving finance practices and technologies.
