As a Senior Business Intelligence and Analytics Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
A successful candidate will bring analytics knowledge of best-in-class business intelligence practices, deep understanding of Data Modeling, Dimensional Modeling and Data warehouse
Help business stakeholders by providing impactful data insights, discovering trends and patterns, anomalies, outliers, correlations to drive better business decisions
Design/Develop impactful and intuitive data visualizations to effectively communicate data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work with business and cross functional teams to deliver and execute complex analytics problems.
Develop curated datasets using Dataiku or similar tools like Alteryx, Tableau Data Prep per business use cases and facilitate self-service analytics.
Strong knowledge of creating sematic models (involving complex logical attributes and KPI measures) adhering to metric governance standards.
Establish and follow BI and Analytics best practices including peer review, code review, documentation, coding standards, data quality and ensure reproducibility and compliance.
Serve as internal SME on BI platform and drive the self-service COE with office hours training.
Establish data and metric governance around the curated datasets and metrics, and best practices on taxonomy, and other.
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines with efficient time management.
Foster strong relationships with key business stakeholders and clients with strong interpersonal communication.
Develop and deliver highly impactful and creative presentations.
Perform requirement lifecycle management, epic and story creation (Jira/Confluence), change management, functional testing, coordinating user acceptance testing and training
Expand BI and Analytics skillset through research, continuous learning, and development opportunities.
Tools and skills you will use in this role:
Advanced SQL
BI and Data Visualization and Data Discovery tools like Power BI
Experience in Tableau or ThoughtSpot is nice to have
Data Prep tools like Dataiku or similar tools like Alteryx, Tableau Data Prep
Python
Cloud data warehouse Snowflake or Amazon Redshift
JIRA and Agile project methodology
Highly autonomous and productive in accomplishing the deliverables with minimal direction
Qualifications
Qualifications
Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 6 + years of relevant experience or master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
4+ years of experience in BI and Analytics, Data Visualization, Data discovery, building curated data sets, insight generation and advanced analytics.
5+ years of hands-on working experience in writing complex SQL.
4 + years of hands-on experience with BI and Data Visualization tools like Power BI
3+ years of hands-on experience with Data Prep tools like Alteryx
3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud data warehouse, data lake like Snowflake
Experience in Python
Experience in running user training sessions and building a power user business community.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, and stakeholder engagement
Beneficial
Experience with Life Sciences Commercial Pharma including insights into Sales Operations, marketing is a plus.
Consulting experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics domain

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Salary: $91,500 - $173,500
