Job Description

Purpose

The Commercial Market Access Pricing Organization is responsible for the execution and management of the commercial agreements with U.S. Private Payers for the entirety of AbbVie’s branded product portfolio. These Commercial Contracts exceed $65Bn in gross sales and manage over $28Bn in Gross to Net Rebate processing. The Market Access Contracting & Rebating Lead is responsible for the operational support associated with select regional accounts.

Primary responsibilities include supporting the strategic objectives of the Market Access organization by facilitating the creation, maintenance, and management of the commercial contracting process, consistent with established pricing policies/procedures. This position is also responsible for performing utilization analytics, invoicing validation, corresponding dispute resolution, and payment of rebate claims within contracted timelines.

Provide routine and ad hoc financial analysis. Provide a high level of independent support for the entire contracting and rebating process, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness. Provide financial support for Actual to Plan reconciliations, Plan/LBE/LRP schedules, and the quarterly balance sheet review, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the pricing governance. Process/Procedures and the movement of offers through the system/process.

  • Manage contracting requests, including scheduling of and leading checkpoint calls, ensuring team alignment and completing follow-ups as needed, preparation of offer decks, as well as the maintenance of term extensions, amendments, and restatements.

  • Manage, analyze, and validate all aspects of rebate payments.

  • Evaluate and dispute the plan’s contract compliance and review performance against contractual objectives.

  • Understand software application systems (Model N, Relay, QlikView) for accurate and efficient rebate processing.

  • Provide support for financial cycles and data reconciliations, as needed.

  • Continuous review of rebates paid to ensure compliance with OEC and government pricing calculation requirements.

  • Continuous interactions with legal, third-party rebate processor, Government Pricing, Market Access Marketing and National/Regional Market Access Sales Management and Account Executives.

  • Special projects as needed, including acquisition integration (as applicable) and system upgrade implementation.

  • The ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities and due dates, and shifting priorities, under tight timeframes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead processes and calls with various stakeholders, manage conflicting opinions, drive to resolution, and deliver on expected outcomes, in the allotted timeframe.

  • Function independently with ability to negotiate change/compromise to drive the business forward to reach goals while ensuring management is kept informed along the way.

  • The ability to interact with and support senior level management and to partner effectively and independently in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive and related experience.

  • Planning and forecasting experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of Model N, Relay, QlikView preferred.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
