Head Start Teacher
This position is afull time(10 months/year) position and is based at theMetropolis Early Learning Center in Metropolis, Illinois. It does come with a benefit package (including personal and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan). This position is responsible for providing a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate early childhood program for preschool aged children and developing a partnership with the children\'s parents or caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation in the program.
Qualifications: At a minimum the applicantmust have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood or a related with 18 hours in Early Childhood - Prefer Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood and experience in an early childhood setting.
Pay Range: \$18.18-\$22.05 hourly
Job Duties:
- Develops weekly plans and implements age appropriate curriculum to nurture and stimulate all domains of children\'s development in their care.
- Administers developmental screening tool within 45 days of child\'s enrollment.
- Completes referrals as needed and participates in IEP/IFSP meetings as needed.
- Maintains an online portfolio on each child\'s progress and development.
- Works cooperatively with Teacher Aide and other staff and volunteers using team approach to classroom management.
- Assures that all children are supervised at all times.
- Participates in family style meals and snacks at the table with the children and completes daily meal and attendance records.
- Completes family staff conferences and home visits as required.
- Assists families with transitions from Head Start to Kindergarten.
- Any other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements of the Head Start program
The applicant selected for this will be required to undergo a DCFS Background/Criminal Check as required by Head Start and Illinois Department of Children & Family Services.
