Our client, a leading energy company , is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in Merrillville, Indiana. This person will be required to be on-site 1 time a week and will work under senior supervision to control project costs, report on metrics, coordinate consultants, promote safety, and manage various project phases, particularly in natural gas , utilizing project management tools and standards for capital and maintenance programs.
This role is a 1-year W2 contract and includes benefits.
Responsibilities:
Manage project costs and provide monthly reports on performance metrics.
Coordinate the work of external consultants and ensure stakeholder expectations are met for project success.
Promote project safety and participate in incident investigations.
Support the development and implementation of project management tools, standards, and processes for capital and maintenance programs.
Execute projects related to capacity and maintenance for Natural Gas Projects, including budget preparation, cost estimating, and preparation of decision summaries.
Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, and regulatory applications.
Desired Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited university or college
Minimum 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following: engineering experience in a utility-based environment, project management
Must have the ability to lead and function in multi-discipline teams.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat a plus
