Description

Scentsy is looking for aSenior Legal Counselto negotiate contracts, manage compliance issues, and manage organizational legal issues for the company.

What You Will Do:

  • Draft, review, advise, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the company

  • Communicate with outside entities and individuals in defense of corporate assets and relationships

  • Negotiate the most complex contract terms on behalf of the company

  • Ensure compliance of contract guidelines

  • Perform complex legal research

  • Provide risk analysis and compliance advice to business groups

  • Evaluate new business opportunities and make recommendations

  • Represent the company in the most complex legal proceedings

  • Examine compliance, licensing, and other legal issues related to new products and make decisions

  • Analyze the impact of new corporate programs and strategies and make recommendations

  • Communicate with government bodies, agencies, and representatives on behalf of the company

  • Manage and direct outside counsel relationships and services e.g., litigation services, international employment services, etc.

  • Track financial performance of contracts and ensure compliance with contracting guidelines

  • Interact with executives, managers, employees, and major customers to provide consultation, influence decisions, and identify and resolve critical issues

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced staff. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor

  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree. Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school

  • 9 years of experience

  • Litigation experience, preferred

  • Active bar membership

  • Strong knowledge of corporate and contract law

  • Expert research and analysis skills

  • Expert written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to analyze situations and information and use sound judgment

  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor during stressful situations

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize competing priorities

  • Advanced communication skills to resolve sensitive or difficult issues

  • Strong negotiation and influence skills

  • Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have working knowledge of computers and traditional word processing software
