Here’s what you’d do:

We’re currently seeking a Gardener to join our team on an organically maintained technical client’s campus. We are looking for somebody who enjoys all aspects of organic horticulture, hands-on gardening and working with a team to expand your knowledge with us. Ideal candidate will have experience in flower gardening and sustainable gardening practices. Effective communication with clients and team members is required.

You’d be responsible for:

  • Garden maintenance of multiple landscapes to perform the following duties:

  • Planning and planting flower displays

  • Use of electric maintenance equipment

  • Hand pruning, harvesting and hand weeding

  • Light repairing of irrigation systems

  • Blowing of hardscaping

  • Protecting company property from theft or misuse

  • Ensuring separation of duties to reduce fraud

  • Meeting the work ethic, regulations and laws

  • Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary company information

  • Cross training with other teams for efficiency

    You might be a good fit if you have:

  • Associates degree or higher in Horticulture related field

  • Work experience with gardening methods

  • Valid Drivers License required

    And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:

  • Experience and knowledge of plants

  • Spray Tech Experience

  • Well organized

  • Ability to talk about plants to general public

  • Experience using hand tools, such as pruning shears

  • Ability to work at heights, as above 8 ft ladder

  • Ability to load and operate a blower 10 pounds for long periods of time

  • Ability to use a hand rake for long periods of time

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle

  • Ability to operate machinery on public roads

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to translate documents. Bilingual is a plus

  • Strong work ethic

  • Work eight hours or more per day, with breaks necessary, for 5 days a week (you may require working overtime on the weekends)

  • Ability to work under extreme conditions - temperatures can get to 100 F

  • Ability to work under direct sunlight for long periods of time

  • Ability to carry 40 pounds (bags of fertilizer, mulch, etc.)

  • Ability to load / unload a trailer full of burlaps up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to bend, stoop and twist throughout the day
