What Youll Do

At American Credit Acceptance, the primary responsibility ofUnderwritersis to evaluate customer credit profiles aligning with loan structure characteristics. They collaborate with dealer partners to educate and formulate loan decisions.

Key duties include gathering and scrutinizing all relevant underwriting information to assess risk levels and determine appropriate premiums for acceptable risks. The role involves accepting risks that meet underwriting standards and declining those that do not.

Underwriters demonstrate proficiency in comprehending and analyzing contracts, titles, and income tax data. Additionally, they evaluate automobile book values and review applicant credit bureau information.

This role may encompass various other tasks as assigned, reflecting the dynamic nature of responsibilities within the underwriting function.

Qualifications

  • Experience in credit underwriting preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate an outgoing personality with the ability to build relationships and establish trust among clients
  • Excellent problem solver with the ability to efficiently prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to digest and apply information, learn new skills, and think critically
  • Proficiency in navigating various computer software & programs, including MS Office and word processing programs
