Kohl's Senior Manager, Reliability Engineering (100% Remote) in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs software lifecycle, reliability, observability, and efficiency in collaboration with peers across Design, Product Management, and Engineering
Owns operational excellence by leading major automation, toil reduction initiatives, simplifying ecosystem, and reducing risks
Manages a small group of engineers while embedded, partnering with cross-functional teams to provide leadership and follow through on reliability initiatives
Sets vision and drives cultural transformation within team
Leads technical initiatives within your organization
Coaches org through empathy and hands-on mentoring
Acquires, retains, and develops top and diverse talent
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field
8+ years of experience in software development
4+ years of progressive management experience, developing and attracting multiple diverse teams
Successful transformation of technical leadership into people leadership
Expert knowledge of application design patterns, event-driven architecture, database schemas, and testing strategies
Proven experience with large scale application troubleshooting and performance tuning
Proven experience working with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
Expert knowledge and experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and test driven development
Have strong programming skills in one or more languages - Java, Python, Go or Node.js
Strong Leadership Skills
Expert ability to manager multiple competing priorities
PREFERRED
Demonstrated experience in at least one PasS & Containers - Openshift, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes or equivalent
Demonstrated experience with one or more configuration management systems like Chef, Ansible, Puppet
Demonstrated in-depth experience in one of more Observability platforms - Prometheus, InfluxDB, Grafana, ELK or APM
Demonstrated understanding of systems architecture, UNIX internals, networking topologies, multi-cluster applications, multi-tenant platforms, and systems/network security
