Required Skills:

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, design, modify, and/or test software services to ensure optimal performance, scalability through the automation of builds, configuration deployment and capacity for growth.

  2. Own back-end data warehouse services, front-end services like Messenger and Newsfeed, and infrastructure components to ensure services run without incident by being the primary point of escalation.

  3. Be a strong contributor and reviewer of code and lead the development of simple and sustainable network software tools.

  4. Create and review processes related to network implementation/deployments, operating policies, capacity plans and standardizing the network toolset for deployment of different artifacts.

  5. Create and review CI/CD solutions for software and configs in multi-vendor, multi-protocol backbone networks.

  6. Collaborate with Network/Software Engineering teams to ensure reliable, slow roll-out of new designs and artifacts, as well as assist with their deployment.

  7. Debug problems in real time of complex networks and software systems by analysis of data and building monitor frameworks to automate detection and remediation of issues.

  8. Demonstrate good judgment in using data driven methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  9. Contribute to annual road mapping and XFN engagements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Engineering, Telecommunications and Network Engineering, Information Systems or a related field. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

    1. UNIX or Linux operating system fundamentals
    1. Operating systems and TCP/IP network fundamentals
    1. Coding in at least one of the following higher-level programming languages: PHP, Python, C++, or Go
    1. Software frameworks and APIs, knowledge on working with configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, firewalls, relational databases such as MySQL and storage systems
    1. Routing and switching knowledge, including hardware design and understanding of forwarding and data planes
    1. Protocol experience, including performance tuning and typical configurations, in BGP, MPLS, ISIS, and similar routing protocols
    1. Network Management tools like DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP
    1. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues ranging from low-level hardware issues to large scale failures within datacenter clusters
    1. Network centric software deployments and managing the complexities/challenges of large-scale rollouts
    1. Developing and understanding network device configuration for at least one vendor (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade, Nokia, Ciena, or Infenera).

Public Compensation:

$225,396/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
