Meta Partner Engineer, Embedded Systems in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that works with our strategic partners to integrate Meta products into their mobile platforms, apps, devices as well as our AR/VR platforms. Partner Engineers bring deep technical knowledge of Android platforms to lead highly visible initiatives and launch impactful products with our strategic mobile partners.

Required Skills:

Partner Engineer, Embedded Systems Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize deep expertise of the Android landscape to influence product solutions and roadmaps

  2. Drive the delivery of new projects and/or systems that increase efficiency and scalability of Meta family of apps & AR/VR apps

  3. Debug and troubleshoot BSP and Driver level issues

  4. Specify cross-functional building blocks, acting as the technical expert, and develop the concepts for both hardware and software aspects

  5. Work closely with partner technical teams to identify issues with their apps and recommend possible solutions

  6. Use broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and resolve technical and business needs

  7. Cascade updates to executive stakeholders and present to audiences at internal and industry events

  8. Willingness to travel for partner meetings and engagements about 10% of the time

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 10+ years of relevant industry experience in software engineering or partner engineering.

  3. 6+ years of industry experience in Android.

  4. Knowledge of Android development and usage various SDKs, Frameworks and libraries.

  5. Experience owning complex and ambiguous problems.

  6. Expertise in AOSP (Android Open Source Platform).

  7. Experience in SOC architecture.

  8. Advanced software development experience in languages and environments such as Java, NDK(C++) and/or PHP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Hardware Peripherals (e.g. Controllers, Motion Tracking, Eye Tracking, Haptics, Spatial Audio).

  2. Experience communicating with external parties.

  3. Experience with technical advocacy and Kotlin.

  4. Familiarity with the Android/AR/VR product development lifecycle.

  5. Practical knowledge of Android hardware as an Android enthusiast.

  6. Excellent communication, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Public Compensation:

$210,000/year to $285,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
