JOB TITLE: Credit Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Loan Department

REPORTS TO: Credit Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The credit analyst is responsible for analyzing credit data and financial information of persons and/or companies that are applying for credit or loans to determine the risk to the Bank. The analyst will work closely with lenders associated with the relationship being analyzed. The risk assessment prepared will then be used to determine if a loan or line of credit will be granted, and if so, the terms of the loan, including interest rate. Credit analysts will prepare reports based upon their findings to help make decisions on lending and creditworthiness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluating clients credit data and financial statements and or tax returns in order to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money to them.

Preparing reports about the degree of risk in lending money to clients

Analyzing financials and using the data to recommend loan structure

Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and opinions for lenders on new, renewal and existing loans.

Ensure that all credit files are complete, identify any documentation deficiencies, and report to loan officer and credit administration as needed for timely resolution.

Ability to effectively manage ones time to complete work according to established deadlines. The ability to prioritize tasks to make the best use of time for high priority tasks.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred

1-2 years of experience of previous experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and comfortable with software packages

Able to research and evaluate data to make informed decisions and solve problems.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Sense of discretion and willingness to maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent and sensitive information

This is a non-exempt hourly position. The hours will be Monday through Friday, and Saturdays as scheduled. This position is not a remote position, nor does it have an option to be a hybrid position.
