JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for providing accounting support to the Accounting Department. Provides aid to the accounting and finance team to manage our company's relationships internally and externally. Assists with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including recording journal entries, completing reconciliations, and compiling information for the financial reporting package. Supports the external audit process. Maintains an understanding of US GAAP and how it applies to the organization. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Perform month-end, quarter-end, annual close and financial reporting procedures. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense journal entries by compiling and analyzing monthly account information and activity. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and expense account reconciliations. Contribute to process improvements across the accounting/finance department. Support preparation of monthly internal management and external reporting packages. Support external audits by creating support schedules and working with external audits. Research and advise on US GAAP Accounting Treatment. Coordinate across subsidiary accounting teams and other groups such as accounts receivable and accounts payable on certain projects. Create SOPs within the department and build the internal control environment. Support change management during the ERP transition and in other future process changes. Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully; however, in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications. Education, Training, Certifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a bachelor's degree in another field coupled with a CPA designation, required. Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements: 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience performing standard accounting function including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparing financial results for internal and external purposes or auditor for public accounting firm. Communication Skills: Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees, customers, and board of directors. Many audiences must be considered, including alignment among multiple stakeholders. Systems and Software Skills: Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office, required. Specifically, experience using Microsoft Excel functions such as vlookups and pivot tables is required. Other Qualifications: Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, required. Must be able to comply with Summit's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement. Work Environment: Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office or remote setting, work alone and with others. Employee will occasionally be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies. Employee will rarely be required to travel.
