Description
We are offering an engaging opportunity for a Auditing Clerk in the heart of MENANDS, New York. In this role, you will be immersed in the vibrant and dynamic industry of accounting, providing vital support in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting with contract management. This role presents a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in managing contracts, including renewals, amendments, and budget development for grant contracts
• Offer technical support to grantees related to policy and federal regulations
• Review and ensure the accuracy of monthly reimbursement requests
• Monitor compliance with contract deliverables and federal regulations
• Carry out accounting duties, data collection, federal reporting, and financial record keeping
• Confirm the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings of business transactions
• Use Microsoft Office Software and Adobe Pro proficiently in carrying out duties
• Implement and develop program policies and procedures
• Maintain accounting records through verification of financial data
• Conduct a wide range of tasks to support program operations
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have previous experience working for a federally funded nutrition program, such as WIC, and of the Statewide Financial System. The candidate would have a strong accounting background, as well as experience with data collection and analytical skills. Previous contract management experience is preferred as well as good writing and communication skills. Experience with development and implementation of program policies and procedures. Preferred qualifications also include experience working in a fast-paced government office setting, familiarity with New York State systems, specific terminology and conducting a wide range of tasks to support program operations.
