Description A well-respected firm in the Energy/Natural Resources field is working with Robert Half to find a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience. Your talents will be used to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and handle internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. This Senior Accountant role is located in Memphis, Tennessee. The company boasts excellent compensation and benefits and offers potential for advancement.
How you will make an impact
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary Requirements - Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Proficient in ERP systems
Ability to meet deadlines
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Expertise in Bioenergy and Food Security (BEFS)
Fixed assets experience desired
Wide ranging experience with Corporate Tax Return
Ad Hoc Reporting experience highly desired
Quality experience with month end closings
Ad Hoc Analysis experience preferred
Ad Hoc Financial Analysis experience
Proven knowledge of variance analysis
General familiarity with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Practical knowledge of account reconciliation
Well-founded grasp of account reconciliation
Must have excellent time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
