Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description We are in search of a skilled Sr. Accountant, based in Memphis, Tennessee, to join our team in the telecom industry. This role will involve a range of duties, from preparing bank reconciliations and general ledger journal entries, to assisting in financial statement preparation, and handling various state tax and property tax reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis.

• Perform appropriate general ledger journal entries as required.

• Prepare general ledger account reconciliations meticulously.

• Utilize accounting software to track and record all fixed asset purchases.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and pre and post-month-end closing procedures.

• Provide essential information for state tax and property tax reporting.

• Prepare monthly financial reports for upper management.

• Handle accounts receivable collections, ensuring timely payment.

• Use your skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, and Sage 100 to perform duties efficiently and effectively. Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of accounting

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with general ledger and journal entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential

• Experience with Sage 100 software would be advantageous

• Experience with month-end close procedures is required

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Compliance with all professional ethical standards

• Valid professional certification (CPA or similar) is preferred.
