We are seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to lead our EHS initiatives, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and promoting a culture of safety within our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and guiding our team in best practices to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment. Join our company as a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist and take the lead in driving safety excellence across all our operations.

salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

Occupational Injury/Illness Prevention

  • Act as subject matter expert for health and safety across U.S warehouse facilities, primarily supporting the Bartlett, TN location

  • Conduct inspections and audits, assessing workplace environment and working techniques to ensure compliance with company policies and occupational safety and health standards and regulations, preparing post-inspection reports and recommendations to management

  • Provide daily guidance and direction on EHS programs, offering hands-on support and coaching to peers, salaried and hourly employees

  • Maintain a strong presence on the production/warehouse floor in our Bartlett, TN facility to influence employee and supervisory behaviors, and fully engage employees in the safety process

Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Program Support

  • Lead, author, and manage EMS policies, procedures, records, and documents (e.g. Spill Prevention, Air Pollution Permitting, Tier II, DOT HazMat/Dangerous Goods, waste management, etc.)

  • Monitor and measure progress to achieve EMS objectives and targets

  • Plan, coordinate, and arrange EMS program activities, initiatives, assessments and audits

Leadership and Continuous Improvement

  • Support the company's EHS philosophy and implementation plans across all warehouse locations

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with site leadership and business partners to ensure communication, alignment and compliance with occupational safety and health standards and regulations

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working in a smoke free environment

  • manual lifting up to 50lbs

  • standing for 8 hours at one time

Skills

  • Safety (4 years of experience is required)

  • Environmental Management (4 years of experience is required)

  • OSHA (1 year of experience is required)

  • ISO 14001 (1 year of experience is required)

  • ISO 45001 (1 year of experience is required)

  • Associate Safety Professional
