ManpowerGroup IT Software Development Advisor in Memphis, Tennessee

(Must reside in MEMPHIS,TN but open to Remote)

Job Title: IT Software Development Advisor

  • Pay Rate: $60/hr

  • Contract to Hire

  • Must reside in MEMPHIS,TN but open to Remote.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To design and maintain robust, scalable software architecture for one or more elements of CMS software systems; to oversee programming, implementation and maintenance revisions of specified projects; and to evaluate technologies and provide consultation regarding applications and systems needs related to these elements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, test and debug software to meet generally defined requirements in a Windows client/server environment utilizing PL/SQL, Oracle, Progress 4 GL Application Development Environment (ADE), .NET, Microsoft SQL, or other platforms.

  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding for the purpose of developing or modifying moderately complex information systems.

  • Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

  • Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain programs.

  • Analyze user needs and assist in the design of specifications to meet end user needs.

  • Develop and modify software to meet specified requirements, including those of insurance carrier and regulatory groups.

  • Test and debug assigned projects, including testing projects for other members of the programming staff.

  • Prepare documentation on new or existing software.

  • Investigate call escalations from the support staff and make necessary corrections to data and/or software.

  • Follow departmental standards and guidelines for design and development.

  • Maintain highest quality of customer service delivery.

  • Stay updated with software development language revisions and technology advances.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Support the organization's quality program(s).

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate/GED.

  • 6 years of Language Development in a relevant and Applicable Language and/Or Business Analytical experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Language Development and Applications Design.

  • Oracle PL SQL Developer.

  • Experience in writing Packages for data loads.

  • Experience creating and maintained Stored Procedure (Packages, Procedures, Function, and anonymous block) with Oracle PL/SQL.

  • Experience using Cursors to pull data from the Database.

  • Experience creating and maintained from simple to complex queries pull data from the Database.

  • Experience in SQL Tuning to improve query performance.

  • Good understanding of Oracle Explain Plan.

  • Experience in designing Relational Databases.

  • Analytical and interpretive skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree major in Information Systems or Computer Science.

  • Proven experience in Interpreting User Requirements, Business Applications Design, and Development of Business Applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education & Licensing: Bachelor's degree with major in Information Systems or Management from an accredited college or university preferred. Master's degree strongly preferred.

  • Experience: Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience required, including seven (7) years of software and development experience. Five (5) years hands-on programming experience in database and data-driven applications strongly preferred.
