Memphis Basketball, LLC Cabeling Technician in Memphis, Tennessee

The Opportunity

Responsible for cabling and termination of Cat3, Cat5, Cat6, CATV, Fiber and various other wiring disciplines. The position includes the testing and troubleshooting of wiring problems and assisting other operations departments with project and maintenance requests.

In This Role You Will

  • Responsible for running cabling of various types
  • Termination and testing of new cabling and installation of associated hardware (J-Hooks, Cable Tray, etc)
  • Setting up new telecommunications and data frames
  • Knowledgeable in structured cabling and other advanced technologies
  • Ability to read, understand and measure from floor plans
  • Ability to estimate materials required for the various cabling projects
  • Remove abandoned cable
  • Run all cabling within the guidelines outlined in the National Building codes and standards
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation
  • Assist other departments as required in order to promote team work and to comply with work schedules (i.e. assisting in-house electricians with fixture replacements and pulling electrical conduit, assisting in-house carpenter and building operators with project request)
  • Other duties as assigned

The Experience Youll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least five years of experience of similar work experience;
  • Thorough technical knowledge to perform duties as outlined above;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Superior organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced environment;
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation;
  • Ability to work games and events on a rotating schedule.

Nice to Have:

  • Ability to assist electricians with projects when needed.
  • Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations.
  • Technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and trace cabling.
  • Familiar with punch down blocks and structured cabling.
  • Highly organized with good coordinating and project management skills.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high pressure environment.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Knowledge and passion of NBA Basketball.
