Oracle Senior QA Automation Engineer in MELBOURNE, Australia

Job Description

As a QA engineer, you will be helping to deliver a highly reliable, scalable, and performant service for the Aconex platform. You will be working with cutting-edge technologies and develop deep understanding of various components and workflows. You will get involved in planning, refining requirements, and be closely working with other team members to perform various QA activities to deliver high quality software that meets or exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing a large enterprise software system with complex workflows and multiple inter-connected services.

  • Understand, maintain, and improve manual and automated test cases as well as relevant knowledge articles.

  • Develop a deep knowledge of product features and business rules for existing and new functionalities.

  • Collaborate with Product, User Experience, and Engineering teams.

  • Understand business requirements and determine the appropriate testing approaches considering the impact of the changes.

  • Communicate clearly with different areas of the business and team members.

  • Perform functional and exploratory testing and identify any risks for upcoming releases.

  • Raise issues for identified product failures and able to perform effective bug advocacy.

  • Proactively engage in continuous process improvement initiatives and find better ways to get things done.

  • Relentlessly focus on personal development to improve efficiency and performance.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with iterative agile software development processes.

  • Experience with automated and manual testing, test case management, environment management, and release management processes.

  • Experience with writing automated tests for web applications and APIs.

  • Experience with Git and maintaining well-organized source code.

  • Experience with containerized systems (Docker/Kubernetes).

  • Experience with Linux/Unix based environments with basic commands.

  • Experience with SQL and database testing.

  • Experience with environment management and CI/CD.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills.

  • Ability to correlate and connect related concepts and issues.

  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy, consistency, and thoroughness.

  • Ability to investigate complex issues and identify root causes.

  • A fast learner with strong desire to understand product features and complex workflows.
