The Role:
Based on site in the Melbourne CBD, the Chef De Partie is a vital role within the Culinary team.
The Chef De Partie will be responsible for assisting the Chef De Cuisine with the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel’s kitchens, through the supervision of your team members and creating Melbourne best dishes and experiences.
The responsibilities are not limited to:
· Assist with the training and development of junior chefs
· Set, clear and reset designated working area and section
· Maintain a positive relationship between both back of house and front of house
· Assist with running shifts and ensuring basic kitchen standards are met when Sous Chefs and Chef De Cuisine are offsite
· Follow all prescribed hotel policies and food safety standards
· Monitor and maintain the quality and quantity of all dishes to be served
Qualifications:
About you:
2 years’ experience working in a fast-paced high end restaurant or hotel
Experience with both Modern Australian and Classic European cuisine is preferred
Certificate IV Commercial Cookery or higher
Great organisational and leadership skills with the ability to train junior staff and run all sections of the kitchen
Ability to work on a flexible 24/7 roster
Well-developed computer skills particularly in the use of MS Office
Effective communication skills and a team player
