IQVIA Business Development & Customer Relationship Manager in Melbourne, Australia

We are seeking an experienced Business Development & Customer Relationship Manager​ to join our team in our Melbourne office. This role involves securing and retaining business through targeted sales activities with existing and potential clinical sponsors.

As a Business Development professional for our ANZ Sales Team at IQVIA, the role involves actively seeking new business opportunities, cultivating strong relationships with key decision-makers, and maintaining a robust knowledge of all IQVIA services for cross-selling. The role requires a keen awareness of competitive activities and pricing, and the ability to identify and respond to customer needs by proposing appropriate strategies or solutions. The professional will lead sales presentations, manage vendors, and possess deep operational knowledge to adapt strategies and tactics to meet client demands and financial targets. They will also establish and execute comprehensive sales plans for each target account and record all customer sales-related activities in our CRM system.

Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge and experience in clinical trials, which will be a significant asset to the team. We also require excellent Business/Industry awareness and a thorough understanding of biotech and pharma industry trends and their impact on the business analytical skills in assessing and interpreting customer business data, with a focus on clinical trial and industry knowledge.

The role involves a balance of internal stakeholder engagement and external interactions, including travel and exhibitions. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, or a related discipline

  • Demonstrated experience in solution-based sales methodology

  • 7+ years of work experience in the CRO / Pharmaceutical industry

  • Deep understanding of clinical operations and drug development

  • Excellent Business/Industry awareness and a thorough understanding of biotech and pharma industry trends and their impact on the business

  • Analytical skills in assessing and interpreting customer business data, with a focus on clinical trial and industry knowledge
