JOB  SUMMARY 

Are you an experienced Test Technician looking for a new opportunity? In this role you will set up and perform High Voltage Electrical and leak test of components and assemblies.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct High Voltage Electrical Tests of completed shipping assemblies in accordance with standard procedures and/or special non-standard instructions. 

  • Operate and check P.D measuring instrumentation.

  • Requiring operation of SF6 gas handling systems and careful use of sensitive SF6 leak detectors.

  • Conduct routine mechanical and configuration inspection of final assemblies at testing in accordance with work instructions and as specified by drawings. 

  • Check Quality Assurance records pertinent to the work, including nonconformance report initiation and distribution.

  • Maintain log and records of all tests performed.

  • Assist in the maintenance of test equipment and ensure equipment being used is in calibration. 

  • Maintain clean, neat, and orderly work areas.

      QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skills:   Various computer programs i.e., MS Word, Excel. Able to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Able to write routine reports and correspondence.  Able to effectively communicate information to co-workers.

  • Equipment Used: Measuring tape, calculator, pressure gauges, hi-pot test equipment, overhead bridge cranes, SF6 leak detectors, SF6 gas cart.

  • Education/Experience:   High school diploma or equivalency (GED) preferred and some technical schooling preferred.

  • Attendance Requirement:   Requires regular attendance during scheduled shift and overtime when required.

  • Physical Demands:    Manufacturing position; spends more than 2/3 of time standing, walking, and using hands.  Spends 20% of time sitting. Handles items weighing less than 15 lbs. 1/3 to 2/3 of time.  Heavy lifting is performed with the use of overhead bridge or carry-deck cranes. Maneuvering of heavy objects is performed using rolling lift tables .   Generally, requires clear color vision at close distances (for reading prints & measurements, checking wiring, etc.).
