Anticipated initial assignment is Newfane Learning Center, Newfane, NY. The individual shall provide services to students in a 12:1:(3:1) classroom setting for middle school age students taking the NYS Alternative Assessment. The individual must have knowledge regarding or experience with students with significant emotional and behavioral disabilities, including cognitive delays. Strong behavior management and leadership skills, and the ability to modify curriculum to meet students' needs, are required. The individual must be a team player and work collaboratively with support staff. The candidate should have experience with behavioral management strategies and the ability to supervise support staff. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) training and de-escalation training are preferred. Possession of or eligibility for appropriate teaching certification is preferred. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Assignment is subject to change. Salary will depend upon experience and qualifications. Anticipated salary range: $125 per day to $207.50 per day.
