Winland Foods Continuous Improvement Engineer Specialist in Medina, New York
The CI Specialist will be responsible for operations support and a leadership role within one or more functions of the Continuous Improvement Group including Focused Improvement Pillar Membership, Project Leader roles and supporting assigned cells. This position will communicate with both the plant floor and leadership on a regular basis, good written and verbal communication skills are a must along with a strong computer/systems background.

Job Description:
Schedule: Primarily 1st shift, however supports CI on all shifts
Work Location: 4001 Salt Works Road Medina, NY 14103

Wage: Base salary up to $80,000, with additional bonus potential
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Continuous Improvement Support
Work cross functionally to support the Management Operating Structure (MOS)
Daily/Weekly Line reviews and Line Huddles
Problem Solving Activities (PDCAs, root cause analysis, 5 whys)
Support plant results by leading project teams to reduce losses and implement countermeasures.
Skilled in and support all CI Initiatives including 5S, Center lining, Loss Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Autonomous Maintenance, Review and Response and other CI Processes as needed
Work with teams to deliver plant results by providing support, leadership, loss analysis and implementing CI Processes
Daily interaction with all positions and levels in the plant and outside of the plant
Other duties as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Results Oriented: self-motivated, creates daily priorities based on long term goals and objectives, ability to manage time and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal management
Strong Team Player who contributes to developing a positive culture through supporting others and being a role model.
Strong analytical skills and is able take large amounts of data/information and work it down to a concise and actionable point that is easily communicated
Demonstrates high ethics and upholds organizational values
Should hold 2-year technical degree (BS/BA Preferred)
Experience in manufacturing environment preferred with the ability to understand manufacturing processes and process flows
Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Strong communication skills
Create and deliver training material in an effective manner
Need to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, customers and vendors.
Communicate SME knowledge to others within Platform and Company
Creativity and problem-solving skills. Background in Continuous Improvement a plus.
Computer literate: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, able to quickly learn new computer programs and processes
Previous experience in leading a team and managing projects is preferred
Able to work a flexible schedule (including some weekends)
Able to travel if job requires <10%
Good Safety and Attendance record
Must be willing to assume additional responsibilities and duties as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk, stand for extended periods along with ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of times
Ability to perform essentials functions of this job
