The RoleYou will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team where you will create advanced applications for Energy Management Systems (EMS) that enable our customers around the world to perform efficient and holistic real-time monitoring of complex transmission networks, intelligent and reliable security analysis for developing effective strategies to avert, mitigate and cope with system emergencies in their transmission grids. Your Impact Design, develop and test software applications used in the power systems industry. Analyze customer requirements and develop software application designs that satisfy customer requirements. Develop product documentation for software applications. Design theoretical algorithms and deliver the implementation in software applications. Create test procedures and perform testing including unit and algorithm proof testing. Maintain existing power system software applications and internal tools. Perform technical reviews on development work products. Stay up to date with the latest NERC/FERC standards and power system engineering industry developments. What You'll Need Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, BSEE with Power Systems Emphasis, Mathematics or related technical field. 1+ years of job-specific experience in the power systems domain. Understanding of power systems concepts in generation, transmission, distribution, distributed energy resources (DER)/DER integration and/or outage management Proficiency with analytical tools, e.g., MATLAB, PSLF, CYME, PowerWorld or other similar tools Exposure to Transient Switching studies using EMTP/EMTDC/PSCAD or equivalent software Proficiency in C, C++ and/or C# coding (school or work setting) Preferred Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Power Systems Emphasis, Mathematics or related technical field. Demonstrated understanding/application of knowledge in areas of power flow, state estimation, DER control and network optimization.
