Job Description:
The Brokerage GBS Medellín team is responsible for managing business transactions in customs on behalf of UPS and its clients. Brokerage is tasked with ensuring that UPS remains compliant with legal requirements and regulations, adhering to standards defined at the corporate level, and implementing the standards expected by the region and all district levels for import and export regulatory requirements.
Other functions:
• Conduct the customs process for importing goods into the United Kingdom.
• Adapt to changes in the customs process and the needs currently presented by Brexit, establishing and documenting changes or new customs processes.
• Calculate the amount of taxes and other fees generated during the importation of goods.
• Identify and apply relevant international treaties.
• Determine the appropriate tariff code for all goods imported into the United Kingdom.
• Verify if the goods entering the United Kingdom are admissible.
• Ensure that each shipment to be cleared in the United Kingdom has all necessary documents to complete its customs process properly according to company standards and customs legislation.
• Guarantee internal customer satisfaction and final customer satisfaction in the process of rating imported goods.
• Comply with company standards.
Qualifications
English Level 85% - Required
Excel Intermediate – Required
Brokerage experience - Preferred
Studies in International Business or related fields – Preferred
Ability to work in a highly measured, fast-paced, production environment.
Location:
Medellin ( People living in Medellín or the Metropolitan Area)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 6 AM to 4 PM.
Monday to Friday 7 AM to 5 PM.
Monday to Friday 8 AM to 6 PM.
