Position : Quality Assurance Lab Technician
Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift (6:00am-6:30pm) Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Description: The role of Quality Assurance Lab Technician is to test and inspect product at various stages of the batching and production process as well as compile and evaluate data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for assuring quality of batch preparation and quality control activities, including process inspection, sampling, and sensory evaluation to meet specification and quality standards.
Perform quality monitoring activities. Record and review data to ensure all documentation is complete and accurate for compliance with regulatory agencies.
Uses test methodology in assessing on-line quality of finished product. Discusses variances with appropriate plant personnel and monitors major quality problems or trends.
Maintains process control by monitoring and/or generating statistical information and reports to Supervisor or Quality Assurance Manager.

Follows all DFA GMP's and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the business.

Requirements
Education and Experience
BA/BS Science or Biological Science, Food Science or related field preferred.
1-year prior lab experience required
Prior manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to use gauges and other devices to verify conformity to standards of product being tested.
Must have solid PC skills.
Ability to learn and apply to plant environment.
Be an effective communicator.
Ability to multi-task.
Must be available to work overtime when needed
Must be available to train on any shift
Must be able to read, write and speak English
