RAM EDM Operator

Job Key Activities and Performance Indicators:
- Setting up and programming EDM equipment to ensure proper functionality when making precision parts for toolmakers and designers.
- Measuring, marking, and documenting dimensions of materials.
- Program of RAM EDM machines.
- Monitoring the EDM machining process and inspecting finished products.
- Restocking and maintaining inventory and spare parts, cleaning the EDM and performing preventive maintenance.
- Design electrodes and fixtures using SolidWorks.
- Create toolpaths using Mastercam 3D cam.
- Manufacture electrodes on surface grinders and CNC milling machines. (5-Axis experience is a plus)
This position will report to the Operations Manager and works closely with the production team members and the quality team to ensure that parts produced meet our rigorous customer quality requirements. Interacts with all other Departments.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two-year Certificate in a Trades school Preferred
- Previous manufacturing experience (2-4 years)
- CNC Experience as an operator
- Basic reading and mathematical
- Tool shop tolerance tools
- Ability to set up and run hole hopper to create wire start holes/ burn taps
- Ability to hold +/- 0.0005 tolerance and occasional +/- 0.0002 tolerance
- Ability to create and check roll dimensions (or willing to learn)
Skills and Competencies: Dependable and can-do attitude required. Ability to problem solve and work under pressure a plus. Candidate must be comfortable working in an industrial environment. Reliable transportation to be at work at scheduled time
