Job Summary:

• The primary function of the Quality Control inspector is to inspect products at various stages of production process to determine and maintain quality and reliability of product.

   

Essential Functions:

• Interprets engineering drawings to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Selects products at specified stages in production process, inspects products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, finish, and mechanical characteristics.
• Inspects received parts, components, and materials to determine conformance to standards.
• Verifies specified dimensions of products or material using a variety of measuring instruments including, but not limited to, micrometers, Vernier calipers, depth micrometers, comparators, gage pins, angle gages, stereo microscope, ring gages, go and no-go gages, and magnifying lenses.
• Record inspection data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Identifies and rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspecting tag.

• Perform other assignments as required

   

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

-High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

-No experience necessary

Language Skills:

-Fluent in English (Good Communication Skills)

Mathematical Skills:

-Basic Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)

Reasoning Ability:

-Ability to carryout detailed, but uninvolved written and verbal instructions

Physical Demands:

-Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

-When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and tools or controls and talk or hear

-Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms

-Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

-Specific vision abilities require close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

-Inspector works near moving mechanical parts

-Noise level is usually moderate for a manufacturing plant
