Job Description
WANTED: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is currently seeking a Systems Engineer I to support the U.S Navy and their submarine systems in Mclean, VA or West Bethesda, MD.
As a Systems Engineer I you will:
Apply your knowledge as a junior Systems Engineer to support specific technical tasks at AMERICAN SYSTEMS

A week in the life of a System Engineer I:
Develop detailed functional descriptions of the major system components.
Develop detailed system operating instructions.
Develop detailed SDRS corrective maintenance procedures.
Develop detailed system installation and removal procedures.
Provide engineering support to other team members who are developing operation and maintenance documentation, test software applications, shipboard test procedures, and computer-based training products in support of new and upgraded systems.
Review preliminary engineering drawings supplied by the design activity and identify and report any discrepancies found based on known signal or power flow requirements.
Test, evaluate and provide feedback to the customer on updates to system graphical user interfaces (displays) based on published design requirements.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred)
Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Valid US passport
At least one (1) plus year of experiece in:
XML, ARBORTEXT, CAD, ADOBE, Linux (CentOS or REDHAT)
System development, testing, and integration

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
