Steampunk Solutions Architect in McLean, Virginia
Overview
Steampunk is supporting a government customer that is organized into agile teams working to develop integrated solutions using the Agile/SAFe Framework.Serve as the technical lead and Solution Architect for a large software development program using Agile, DevSecOps and Human-Centered Design to build intuitive, simple systems.The current technology stack includes front-end web interfaces, web services, server-side business logic batch jobs such as extract-transform-load (ETL), and database backends.
Contributions
Leverage experience developing software solutions to architect systems using microservice development techniques, containers, domain-driven design patterns to design and build complex software systems
Leverage DevSecOps techniques to create resiliency, improve efficiency, reliability, and security of the mission
Support systems architecture development and integration, script development, integrated logistics support, configuration management, systems and mission engineering, and life cycle management
Demonstrate expertise in Cloud architectural constructs as well as Cloud-specific technologies and services using knowledge of Cloud APIs to establish and maintain Cloud environments programmatically is preferred
Assist the program manager as the lead technical engineer for the program and engage with multiple functional groups (and other contractors) to comprehend challenges and prototype new ideas
Qualifications
Must be US Citizen
Ability to obtain a security clearance
BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field required
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Great attention to detail
Organizational skills
8+ years of experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices
8+ years of experience with build, deployment, and release automation and orchestration
8+ years of experience with supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure
8+ years of experience with database engineering, and manipulating relational and NOSQL databases
8+ years of experience with infrastructure as code environments, including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD
8+ years of experience with automating tests for determining quality, security, performance and usability of a system.
Experience with multiple back-end and front-end languages(e.g. C, C#, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
Experience with automation tools, including Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, EKS, and Docker
Experience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull-requests
Experience working in HCD, Agile and DevSecOps environments
