Amentum Electrician Maintenance in McLean, Virginia

Amentum is currently seeking a Maintenance Electrician Tech for our northern Virginia location. This person will maintain and troubleshoot assigned engines/components at the highest quality and safety standards in accordance with applicable technical directives. Troubleshoot, test and repair engine electrical components. Specific tasking for this position can be located in the applicable work center Job Qualification Standards (JQS). The following represents general duties and responsibilities this position will be required to complete. Active TS/SCI w/Poly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform operational checks utilizing applicable testing equipment on engine and test cell electrical components.

  • Comply with all applicable contractual programs and regulations, i.e. tool, safety, security, HAZMAT, support equipment, housekeeping, and FOD prevention programs.

  • Assist the Senior Mechanic, in coordination with the Training Manager and Division Foreman with on-the-job training requirements.

  • Accomplish paperwork entries associated with maintenance tasks and the ordering of parts.

  • Maintain shop equipment and precision measuring tools.

  • Conduct maintenance inspections of engine/component to ensure quality and completeness.

  • Perform qualified tasks to disassemble, reassemble electrical components required to perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with applicable technical directives.

  • Must possess a current TS/SCI w/Poly or be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/Poly. Please note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Minimum Knowledge

  • An extensive knowledge of engine electrical/indicating systems is required.

  • The ability to interpret and apply information on schematic diagrams, drawings and charts for fault isolation and repair of assigned systems and system subassemblies is required.

  • A minimum of two years' experience in the repair of electrical systems is required.

  • Experience must include troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical components on engines.

  • Prior experience on assigned engines is highly desired.

  • Night work may be required.

  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • Position may require travel.

Work Environment

  • On-site only (no remote or hybrid). Must be able to perform work on customer facility.

  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
