Director, Software Engineering - Assets Management
We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering who is passionate about growing and sustaining an innovative technology organization while fostering a culture of engineering and operational excellence. This individual will be an engineering leader who enjoys solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, inclusive, and iterative delivery environment. The Director of Software Engineering will be a part of the Assets Management organization within the Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) line of business. This leader will drive our asset transformation journey and lead various complex technical initiatives to include shaping scalable solutions and destination architecture for a highly visible Asset Management Platform, enterprise data normalization and application of GenAI, and designing and building the system of record for Cyber, Security, Risk, and Operational needs for the enterprise.
The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated risk or process management professional with excellent process improvement and communication skills. The candidate will be detail-oriented and results focused, and will have a proven record of problem solving and collaborating with others.
You will :
Lead multiple agile teams and coach and mentor engineers through their career development and performance
Work with Product partners to develop the technology strategy, roadmap and vision for the platforms you own; and deliver application capabilities
Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack development tools and technologies
Lead complex vendor relationships and ensure well-managed integration of vendor platforms into our broader Capital One ecosystem
Develop and leverage trusted relationships across Architecture, Design, and other Technology leaders to ensure strategic alignment
Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities
Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 7 years experience in software engineering or software development
At least 5 years experience in people management
At least 3 years experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s Degree
10+ years of experience in software engineering or software development
7+ years of experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) ,IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Risk Management domains
5+ years of experience in Agile practices
3+ years of experience in modernizing technology stacks
2+ years of experience in Data Streaming Architecture and Event Driven Architecture
2+ years of experience in defining and deploying future-state ITSM/ITAM processes and identifying solutions from a people, process and technology perspective
