PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Director, Project Management in Finance Transformation at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to lead and execute on initiatives and change management efforts in the areas of Finance Transformation, Financial Technology, Accounting and Finance. This position will be accountable for project plans, budgets, milestones, meetings and project resources. The individual will partner closely with all Finance/Accounting Departments as well as Technology, Data, Product specific teams, Legal, Risk and Compliance/BSA/AML partners. This position will build and maintain working relationships with Finance and Accounting team members, external vendors, and other departments that initiate change activities and are project stakeholders in related projects.

  • Provide foundational knowledge of Project Management professional practice codes, methodologies, and knowledge sources.

  • Manage small to medium scale Finance/Enterprise projects using advanced project management and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate all aspects of a project.

  • Define, manage and monitor the project portfolio, including schedules, performance, quality, risks, and budgets using appropriate tools and techniques, and help implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Provide leadership in areas of requirements analysis, business rule creation, issue tracking and resolution, and user acceptance.

  • Resolves incidents and fulfills requests using incident and request management.

  • Support sound change management policies and procedures while leading/facilitating working through ambiguity to gather information required to make decisions with and manage change efficiently and effectively.

  • Interact with Vendor Support to resolve issues related to environment, performance etc.

  • Demonstrated presentation and written communication skills and strong facilitation skills to lead project meetings.

  • Foster, support and collaborate business relationships with other Enterprise project leaders on integrated initiatives and provide timely assistance and guidance on project related inquiries.

  • Identify and implement actions to improve overall team performance and build a positive, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field is required.

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of project management is required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Financial Services experience required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in functional CA PPM modules like Project Management, Portfolio Management, Resource Management, Time Sheet Management, Financial Management and managing the implementation of cross-functional team activities.

  • Solid understanding of project management methodology. Agile experience is highly desired.

  • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.

  • MS SharePoint and Clarity (CA PPM) experience is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications

Agile and/or PMP Certification preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. *

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
