Job Summary and Qualifications
Program runs from August 25, 2024 to April 5, 2025
Base Pay: $66.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Night shift

What You Will Do In This Role:
You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols.
You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
You will be familiar with vaginal and C-section births, fetal monitoring and provide care for patients who receive various types of anesthesia.
You will demonstrate expertise in providing care for patient during PACU period as well as newborn care first two hours of life.
What qualifications you will need:
At least 1 year of acute care RN L&D experience is required
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact state license
BSN
Program Requirements:
All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND, D2/ECD, and D3/EVD)
Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2024-2025 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.
Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
