CTI Water Treatment Solutions Water Treatment Service Technician in Mckeesport, Pennsylvania

The Water Treatment Service Technician will be responsible for providing field service support for both the CTI Water Treatment team and our clients. Working with existing accounts within a given territory to provide effective water treatment programs specific to system/client conditions will be the primary function of the position. Another function of the position will be to provide support to other team members at various locations. CTI also has a small amount of inventory stored in house, as part of this position you will be asked to assume responsibility for managing the warehouse and lab areas. Responsibilities: • Service existing accounts, which includes but is not limited to; chemical testing, calibration and repair of chemical feed related equipment, inventory management, and visual inspections of systems when necessary. • Recognize, diagnose and solve water-related problems in steam boilers, cooling towers, and closed loop water systems by recommending solutions utilizing chemicals, equipment, and/or service. Use the same methods to offer clients options to reduce operating costs, increase safety factors, and be environmentally responsible. • Properly document the actions and recommendations for clients in a service report format that is sent promptly to intended, and potentially confidential, recipients. • Know, understand, and implement safety practices in regard to water treatment equipment and chemicals. This includes familiarization with SDS, OSHA, PPE, and ASHRAE procedures and practices. • Warehouse and lab management means performing housekeeping tasks in both of those areas of CTI's physical location, proper cleaning and disposal of used packaging, providing inventory status reports, and identifying needs to ensure products and supplies are kept on hand to adequately provide for clients and the CTI team. • Participate in special projects as requested by management. Requirements: • High School Diploma, College Degree Preferred. • Experience in water treatment, water hygiene, environmental health and safety, and/or secondary disinfection is preferred, but not required. • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience working on teams from multiple locations. • Strong mechanical aptitude. • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. • Some experience with customer service skills. • Knowledgeable in MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook). • Basic mathematics and calculation skills. • MUST be Highly Motivated and a Self-Starter. • Perform physical work in a HVAC, cooling towers, or boiler equipment environment requiring exposure to chemicals, noise, hot & cold temperatures and inclement weather • MUST posess good physical ability -- the job requires frequent walking to and from worksite. • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record (DMV record will be checked) • Ability to work flexible schedule, some weekends and/or nights required, although not typical, depending on the servicing of accounts. • At times there are training opportunities that may require out of state travel, this may be done individually or as a group, and is required periodically. • Required work activities include but are not limited to, climbing and descending stairs and ladders (from 10-30' in height), sometimes while carrying drums of chemicals weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining a 3-point ladder contact (per OSHA rules). • Be able to wear protective gear for the face, ears, and gloves.
