Need three full time, temporary, Farmworkers to work in McIntosh, MN. From: 03/01/2024 to 01/02/2025 Work: 50 hrs./week, Mon-Tue 9hrs./day, Wed-Sat 8hrs./day. 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. JOB DESCRIPTION: Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans, hay, wheat; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer s fields, load employer s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Regulate conditions; Feel plants' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for handling livestock. Must be able to obtain a driver's license following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company pickup for obtaining medicine and birthing supplies. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. No High School Diploma / GED required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
