Atlantic Emergency Solutions has an immediate full-time opening for an Accounting Clerk in our McConnelsville, Ohio Service Center. Qualified candidates will be required to perform a wide variety of entry-level accounting tasks, including the following:
- Assist with both accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
- Provide general support to the accounting department
- Prepare and issue customer invoices promptly and accurately
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely payments
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices and payment status
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization
- Schedule and process payments to vendors in accordance with terms
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions
- Reconcile accounts payable statements and resolve discrepancies
- Data Entry
- Reporting
- Bookkeeping
- Resolution of discrepancies related to any of the tasks he or she performs
- Accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Provide assistance to and support for team members
- Assist with ensuring the company's daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively
Requirements
Successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as attention to detail. He or she must be proficient with basic computer programs including Microsoft Office, databases, and accounting software. He or she must be able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment. He or she should be familiar with and demonstrate comfortability with all bookkeeping and accounting practices and procedures. He or she must strive for accuracy and attention to detail, must have an aptitude for numbers, and must be well organized.
Successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years' related experience. Associates degree or relevant certification is a plus.
