As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for manufacturing support of New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept through production start. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to review designs for their manufacturability, while also focusing on developing, ordering, and validating tooling through your partnership with production. This is a one-of-a-kind role that partners with multiple teams and is a key member throughout the process, from design to production, and everything in between.
YOUR IMPACT:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
You will evaluate new designs for manufacturability, ergonomics, safety, productivity, and environmental impact. Also evaluate impacts to the facilities.
You will evaluate production capacity impact of new design
You will determine assembly and fabrication tooling requirements
You will develop and validate tooling design incorporating ergonomics, safety, and productivity into the design
You will review and approve engineering change documents, including make/buy decisions
You will provide labor estimates for new designs
You will plan, schedule, and prioritize to meet established deadlines and provide scheduling to NPD team.
You will determine if new designs require new processes and utilize Lean/Six Sigma principles and methodologies when creating new processes
You will provide direct support during Pilot-pre-production builds and start of production
You will assist in the Prototype builds Lead, supervise and mentor individuals and teams in projects.
You will develop Manufacturing Plans and collaborate with production (Supervisors, IEs, Materials, Quality)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field.
Five (5) or more years of experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment with a high operational tempo
Certified in Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Project Management methodologies Working knowledge of Creo Parametric 3D modeling and AutoCAD 2D Understanding of GD&T
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Manufacturing knowledge in assembly, fabrication, machining, or welding
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
