Ensure that all equipment is checked, fueled and serviced. Advise supervisors on project status, delays, and overall operations. Provide information to supervisor of any accidents, personnel issues, or disciplinary problems. Operate a variety of heavy and maintenance equipment related to construction. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as a Engineering Equipment Operator Leader, located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Engineering Equipment Operator Leader without more than normal supervision. I can monitor work assignments, demonstrate the proper use of heavy mobile equipment, relay instructions to others and ensure all required paperwork are completed correctly and submitted timely - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle) Operation of Motor Vehicles Reliability and Dependability as an Engineering Equipment Operator Physical Effort: The physical demands of the worker are high since the incumbent is required to operate several different types of equipment and also various types of hand tools doing hand labor. Good hand, foot and eye coordination, depth perception and concentration are required. When possible and practical, mechanical hoist, dollies, hand trucks, etc., are used and fellow workers assist when needed. At no time is the pace or weight lifts to exceed safety regulations. Worker is required to keep his eyes and ears open at all times and be able to distinguish color. A physical examination is required each year. Working Conditions: The worker when operating equipment is exposed to moving machinery. Minor to fatal injuries may occur if rules and regulations governing the operation of equipment are discarded. Majority of the time is spent working outside, with exposure to snow, ice, heat, dust and dirt. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Construction, Engineering, Infrastructure Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Relocation (Government Home Sale) Expenses are not authorized. This position may require overtime work. This position may require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to cover work performed on weekends, holidays and/or in other situations. This position may require you to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing. Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 1 year 1 day. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
