ABOUT THE ROLE

The Laboratory and Aggregate Quality Manager position encompasses two key responsibilities:managing the concrete and aggregates materials laboratory and overseeing the aggregate quality control department. This role involves ensuring that all laboratory activities and

aggregate quality control functions comply with the relevant Company Internal Management Systems and Environmental and Health & Safety Policies in the SOR region.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Ensure that all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and standards.

  • Operate in compliance with all industry and professional technical methods, policies, and procedures.

  • Be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of all data generated in relevant areas, providing timely and accurate reports on this data.

  • Monitor analyses and trends after testing materials and finished products to ensure that quality and technical performance standards are met.

  • Provide necessary technical assistance in investigating the performance and quality of products within the technical group.

  • Ensure that the laboratory environment and testing equipment are properly maintained and calibrated according to all industry standards and professional policies and procedures.

  • Offer technical support to all internal company departments, specifically the sales and production teams, as needed.

  • Provide technical support to customers as directed.

  • Ensure that company vehicles are operated and maintained legally and safely in compliance with all company policies

  • Collaborate routinely with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) technical teams across multiple divisions.

  • Manage all required regional third-party technical testing.

  • Engage in ongoing education to enhance understanding of industry design, testing, construction methods, and specifications.

  • Accurately, promptly, and professionally manage project tasks.

  • Projects will include research and development, assistance in resolving customer complaints, product optimization trials, and other related support tasks.

  • The position is expected to provide industry-specific technical training to internal and external groups.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's/University Degree

Work Experience:

  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree, Degree in Concrete Industry Management or BSCE

  • Minimum 10 years of concrete and aggregate technical experience

  • Must have experience in managing quality and technical teams

  • Must be familiar with TxDot/ ACI/ ASTM/ AASHTO codes and practices

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Must currently have ACI Concrete Testing Field Technician Grade level 1 certification

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
