RUST PUBLISHING NE LLC Editor in Mc Cook, Nebraska
Job Title: Editor Location: McCook, Nebraska About Us: We are a vibrant community newspaper serving the residents of McCook, Nebraska and the surrounding rural areas. Our mission is to connect, inform, and celebrate the stories that matter most to our community. We publish our print edition three days per week, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We also publish daily on our web site, mccookgazette.com. Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Write, edit, and curate articles, features, and news stories that reflect the local culture, events, and people.
- Layout and Design: Collaborate to create visually appealing newspaper layouts.
- Community Engagement: Attend local events, interview community members, and foster relationships with local organizations.
- Proofreading: Ensure accuracy, grammar, and style consistency in all content.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Experience in newspaper editing, interviewing, writing, photography and reporting.
- Familiarity with AP style and digital publishing tools.
- Passion for community journalism and a deep understanding of rural life.
- Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop preferred, but we can train if you are willing to learn.
