Cultural Ambassador
SUMMARY
The Cultural Ambassador is responsible for providing guests with a warm and welcome environment. This individual will participate as a pro-active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.
Essential Function:
Responsible for all Hawaiian cultural activities & classes to include cultural programming, entertainment, and children activities.
Help create and manage the Resorts Calendar of cultural classes & activities
Assist in creating exhibits and/or crafts that celebrate the cultural and unique aspects of Kapalua Bay.
Assist with training for any activity department team members and volunteers.
Help with and organize fundraising and community activities to support the department.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
College Degree preferred.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a luxury hotel preferred.
Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service.
Demonstrated knowledge of Hawaiian Culture
Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and communication skills required
Enjoy interacting with people in a fast paced environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Must possess a positive attitude.
Must be willing to participate in a learning environment.
Must integrate company values throughout all interactions.
Must be able to quickly adapt to effectively using new software products.
Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time approximately six hours. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
The pay scale* for the Cultural Ambassador position is $32.00.
*The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position. Please let us know if you have any questions.
